Welcome to Huddunge village school

Huddunge Byskola (The Huddunge Village School) is a small and cozy school in the countryside, in the middle of the village but close to nature, which means many opportunities for active learning in an outdoor environment. The school has access to large areas for play and sport.
The school owns a school bus that picks up children from other locations in the neighbourhood.
Students are served a locally cooked lunch daily.

Huddunge Byskola consists of pre-class year until grade 6.
The school is run as a private enterprise since 2010 by  Huddunge Byskola Ekonomisk Förening where all the members work as volunteers. The school is a member of the Friskolornas Riksförbund (The Independent Schools Association).

Pre-school and after-school care are available within walking distance from the school.

More information about the school

Huddunge Byskola is an independent school with an overall focus. It is an age-integrated pre-class up to grade 6 school and teaches the basis of the national curriculum and LGR 11.
The school offers a calm and safe environment in rural surroundings. Forest and fields are adjacent with the possibility of active learning in the nature. In the winter we have a sledding hill as well as a skating rink where children can move and play and in summer also access to a full size football field.
The students come from Huddunge and nearby areas. The school owns a school bus that picks up children in the neighbourhood. Huddunge Byskola is a small school with small classes and no child gets lost in the crowd – everyone gets attention. Huddunge Byskola Ekonomisk Förening runs the school on a non-profit basis. Teaching is funded by student allowance from the municipality and is completely free of charge for the student.
The students are served lunch which is cooked locally in the village. If necessary, a simple breakfast is offered. Our purchases are made in the local shop.

After Heby municipality decided to close down the public school in Huddunge, intensive work began in the village. Children, parents and other locals thought it was important that the school had to stay. Therefore, the initiative to start an independent school was launched. Committed parents and villagers worked hard and in the autumn of 2010 the school reopened under new management.
Huddunge Byskola is a school with local engagement. Many locals helped with practical work and sponsored the start of the school.

Children are our future.
Children are the most precious thing we have. The school has a very important role in society and a great responsibility to give children the best possible start in life. Knowledge goals are central but schools should also promote good camaraderie and fellowship, cooperation and tolerance and offer a creative environment. Our challenge is that our students will thrive in the village school and long for the next school day.

Huddunge Byskola is an independent school which is run entirely voluntary and without profit.
We are grateful for all the support we can get from local residents, associations and companies that have their heart with our students and with our village. We value all financial contributions, large and small. All gifts and contributions will go to the school’s students. If you would like to help in any way or provide sponsorship do not hesitate to call the school: 0224-963 19 or send an e-mail to: styrelse(at)huddungebyskola.se (Board of Directors).

We see more involvement in our school as extremely valuable both for our students and for Huddunge.
